Meet Bela: voice control residents actually use

Bela Assistant brings simple, natural voice control to Akuvox indoor panels. Wake it with “Hi Bela” or tap the icon and speak conversationally—no rigid scripts. Residents can call a contact or the SOS list, answer an incoming call, and open the local relay or a specific MK485 external relay. They can also open monitoring channels, arm or disarm, toggle Do Not Disturb, and adjust brightness or volume. Bela can even change wallpapers and report device info such as IP address, MAC, or the city’s weather (PDF p.21–22).

Requirements are straightforward. Bela needs a SmartPlus Cloud connection and currently includes a 90-day free trial. As of this update, it runs on the S567 with firmware 567.30.14.404 or higher and uses an English interface. To enable from a laptop, browse to the device IP, sign in with the default admin account, and go to Settings, then Bela Assistant.

Why this matters to owners: residents notice convenience features. Voice control helps when your hands are full, and it supports accessibility for people with mobility or dexterity challenges. It’s a visible upgrade over legacy intercoms and a differentiator for new leases.

Why this matters to installers: the setup is quick, the commands are practical, and support is minimal. Keep a tested phrase list in your handover packet and show residents how to wake Bela.
