Before You Reset

Important Notes

Power up the device first. Devices must be fully booted before attempting a physical reset. The reset button does not work when devices are in engineering mode. For input-shorting reset methods, hold the input pins together while powering on.

Reset Methods by Series

Select Your Device Series

S Series X Series E Series R Series

S532 / S535 / S539

Insert a paperclip or pin into the reset hole and hold the button.

S532

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The device will go into factory reset and reboot.

S535

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The device will go into factory reset and reboot.

S539

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The device will go into factory reset and reboot.

X910 / X912 / X916

Insert a paperclip or pin into the reset hole and hold the button.

X910 / X912

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The device will go into factory reset and reboot.

X916

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The device will go into factory reset and reboot.

X915

Insert a PIN into the hole and hold to reset.

Hold the reset button for about 3 seconds. The card reader backlight and fill light will light up — device goes into factory reset and reboots.

E12 (Pin Hole)

Insert a PIN into the reset hole and hold to reset.

Hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. The LED light, fill light, and card reader light will all illuminate — device goes into factory reset and reboots.

E18 / E20 / E21 (Back Cover)

Remove the back cover of the door phone to access the reset button.

Screen off: hold white button for 3-5 seconds. Normal working state: hold for 8-10 seconds. Device factory resets and reboots.

E20

Press the reset button for about 5 seconds until the device plays a beep. Device factory resets and reboots.

E21

Press the reset button for about 10 seconds until the device plays a beep. Device factory resets and reboots.

E16V2 (No Physical Reset)

This model does NOT support physical button reset.

E16V2

Reset via the device web interface only.

R Series — No Physical Reset Button

The following models do NOT support resetting via physical button press. Use the web interface or input-shorting method.

R20 Series

Including R20A, R20A-2, R20B, R20K, R20K-2, R20K-L. Use input shorting (see below) or web interface.

R25 Series

Including R25A. Use input shorting or web interface.

R27 / R28

No physical reset button. Use input shorting (R28) or web interface.

R29

Reset via web interface only.

Input Shorting Reset: R20 Series, R20-2 Series, R25 Series, E12, R27, and R28 support resetting by short-circuiting the input. Press and hold the input pins together simultaneously while powering on the device.
