Hikvision DS-KD Module Addressing (DIP Switch Settings)
Each card reader / keypad sub-module on a Hikvision modular door station needs its own address, set with the DIP switches on the back of the module. Addresses run 1–8: odd numbers are entrance readers, even numbers are the matching exit readers.
Applies to: DS-KD-XX (M2) sub-modules for the modular door station range — card reader, keypad and fingerprint modules that attach to a DS-KD8003 / DS-KD-ACW main unit. Firmware for these modules is on our Hikvision firmware page (ACS_DS-KD-XX_M2).
Address table
| Address | Function | Switches ON |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Door 1 — Entrance card reader | 1 ON |
| 2 | Door 1 — Exit card reader | 2 ON |
| 3 | Door 2 — Entrance card reader | 1 + 2 ON |
| 4 | Door 2 — Exit card reader | 3 ON |
| 5 | Door 3 — Entrance card reader | 1 + 3 ON |
| 6 | Door 3 — Exit card reader | 2 + 3 ON |
| 7 | Door 4 — Entrance card reader | 1 + 2 + 3 ON |
| 8 | Door 4 — Exit card reader | 4 ON |
All other switches stay OFF. The addressing is binary on switches 1–4 (switch 1 = 1, switch 2 = 2, switch 3 = 4, switch 4 = 8) — so any address is the sum of the switches you turn ON. Switches 5–8 are unused for addressing.

How to set it
1. Power down the door station.
2. Detach the sub-module and find the 8-position DIP block on the back.
3. Flip the switches for the address you want from the table above (ON is toward the "ON" marking).
4. Reattach, power up, then add/confirm the module in the main unit or in iVMS-4200.
Rule of thumb: entrance reader for door N = address 2N−1, exit reader = 2N. Two modules must never share an address on the same door station.
