How to Reset Hikvision Camera & NVR Password

Step-by-step instructions to reset a forgotten password on Hikvision cameras, DVRs, and NVRs

Step 1: Download & Open SADP Tool

Download SADP from the Hikvision website. After opening, all Hikvision devices on your network will automatically appear in the list.

Step 2: Select Device & Click "Forgot Password"

Click the checkbox on the left of your device, then click "Forgot Password" in the right panel. This opens the reset dialog.

Note: If SADP shows a "Security Code" dialog instead of the reset menu, please email the security code to support@1800dvr.com with your phone number in the subject line and we will assist you.

Step 3: Export Device Feature Code File

In the Reset Password dialog, click "Export device feature code file" and save the .xml file to your computer. Keep this file safe for the next step.

Step 4: Email Us the Exported File

Email the exported .xml file to support@1800dvr.com. Please include your phone number in the subject line. We will process the reset and get back to you accordingly.

Step 5: Import Reset Token & Set New Password

Return to SADP, open Forgot Password dialog. Select "Import File", browse to the .xml token from Hikvision's email, enter your new password, and click Confirm.
