How to Reset Hikvision Camera & NVR Password
Forgot the admin password on a Hikvision camera, DVR, or NVR? Follow the five steps below — we handle the reset for you, usually the same day.
Download & open the SADP tool
SADP scans your network and lists every Hikvision device it finds. Install it on a computer connected to the same network as your device.

Select your device & click "Forgot Password"
Tick the checkbox next to your device in the list, then click Forgot Password in the right-hand panel to open the reset dialog.

Export the device feature code file
In the Reset Password dialog, click Export device feature code file and save the .xml file to your computer. You'll email us this file in the next step.
Email us the exported file
Send the .xml file to support@1800dvr.com with your phone number in the subject line. We'll process the reset and send you back a reset token, usually the same day.

When our token arrives, go back to SADP and open the Forgot Password dialog again. Choose Import File, browse to the token .xml, enter your new password, and click Confirm. You're back in.

Older device? Get your reset code instantly
Use this if SADP’s Forgot Password dialog shows a Serial code / Security Code box (older Hikvision firmware). Newer devices that export an .xml feature code file use the 5-step email method above instead.

Some older Hikvision devices want the code from the full serial; others want it from just the part after the model number (the tail that starts with the manufacture date). Try Code 1 first, then Code 2 if it’s rejected.
Type this code into the Serial code / Security Code box in SADP’s Forgot Password dialog, then set your new password. If it’s rejected, re-check the serial’s capital letters and confirm the date matches the device clock exactly.
